Still brewing coffee . . . . I have an illustrator file which the artist has place a grayscale tiff and then assigned a cmyk value to the image . . . unfortunately it needs to be a spot metalic color . . .. brain dead asked the whiz kids how do you assign a color to a tiff image in Illustrator???? HELP

Should be just a matter of selecting the image, and changing the fill color. (Make sure you're grabbing just the image, and no masks or anything along with it though).

You can also drag and drop the Pantone or any made Spot Color swatch from the swatch panel onto the grayscale tiff image.
