If you take a longer look at the machine you will notice that the similarity is really only down to the 3 trays at the bottom. The c6501 height is the same as the top of the paper deck; in the photo it is at least 6" higher. Also the c6501 is as wide as the draws, here again there is an extra bit on the left which I assume would be a better position for a waste bottle.

I don't know anymore than what is on that page so I am in the dark as much as anyone here. But, if at 600 DPI the c6501 is comparable to any other offerings 1200 is going to be pretty amazing (at 8-bit).

I'd like for them to have opened up the doors so we could have peeked under the hood a bit on the video.
