How one would go to get the native HP 5000 media profiles into MatchPrint RIP 2.6. Greatly apprecite any help?

Ira

If by "native HP media profiles" you mean any profiles that installed on your computer with the machine or came from any other source than that particular RIP...then the answer is, you don't.

A RIP's basic function in life is to convert pixel information into dot information. And it makes dots based on all the parameters--single-channel ink limits; linearization; multi-channel ink limits--that a "profile" becomes a characterization of.

When using any RIP, unless a media or profile was created from the ground up in that RIP, then it can't be used with that RIP.

thank you for response. So, the ICC profiles that HP has for dofferent type of Media is used how?

it does not seem that Matchprin to have profile for all kind papers from all manufacturers?

@Iras, I think you can assume that the ICC profiles from HP are for use with the specified, printer and substrate as well as the HP print driver. (Most likely they are RGB based profiles using the default setting unless specified otherwise)
