Laminator Options

I'm interested in adding coating or laminating ability. Currently we have a small (10"?) pouch laminator. Not commercial grade. I've seen commercially laminated pieces before and they do not look like what comes out of our pouch laminator. What is the least expensive equipment that will do professional looking lamination?

We went from pouch to this

Suited us perfectly. It is labour intensive but no more so than the pouch method. If your getting by with pouch then this would be the next step up in quality and budget. Up from that again would be semi auto machines but your taking a big jump in budget then.

Its by no means a production laminator. We still outsource high volume due to cost of film and time.

Pouch laminators are generally to heat plates that the pouch passes through. Roll laminator's like above are heated rollers so fusing the film while directly applying pressure which eliminates the streaks you get with pouches.

You can pick up a professional level, ie 24=4 inches, laminator at auction or on ebay for a reasonable price . . . just remember "let the buyer beware" we get a lot of equipment that way and you win some and lose some . . luckily we have won many more than we have lost . .. .
