Every person's situation will be different. There are so many things to take into consideration when upgrading - not just sw but the mac you're installing it on, drivers for your output devices and network shares period. If you're quick print and are responsible for creating all of your own content, then go for it - it's all up to you anyway. If you're reprocessing ads, doing newspapers or handling over the counter stuff - then you will always need the 2 systems - new one and old one - things WILL happen and the list is too long to type.
