Just problems pulling doubles. On 60# and 50# accent opaque. Of course it is worse in the colder months. I do not think there is a adjustment on the foot of the sm52 like the sm102 is there? I do not see one. You know the 5mm to loosen and adjust foot height up and down.
Ok. There are a few things that I can suggest that might help you. Some of the things that I will discuss you may already know but I will start at square one.
From a mechanical point of view, check the alignment of the lifting suckers. If the pile was raised too high via the motor and was stopped by the safety switch in the head at some time, the assembly might have been damaged.
Use the operating manual if available to cross reference my information.
1. The foot cannot be adjusted like the SM 102 that you mentioned. On the foot you may have seen notches on both sides. (you may need a light). The forward notch is to be positioned on the edge of the pile using the 2 hole tissue suckers. The suckers can be lifted upward for light paper. The rear notch is placed on the edge of the pile for heavier paper. Check diagram in the operating manual. On the operator side of the suction head you will see a bulls eye that will move off center up or down when you raise or lower the suckers. Center position is a starting point. When you use the heavier disc the suckers will move down and flatten to pick up heavier paper.
2. Start with minimal air blast and suction. Maintain the pile 3mm below the flap on the feedboard. Turn down the air on the static blowers (if you have them).
3. Position the rear spring separators slightly above the paper. Don't rest the separators on the stock.
4. If the foot is not positioned correctly and too much air is used, multiple sheets will be pushed forward causing mis-feeds. Set the suction tape air to 30-40 %.
5. Try this using the stream feed option. If the sheet size format allows single sheet feeding you can try it also. I have in the past used this as an option.
6. Press speed will also come into play. If you cannot run at top speed of 15,000 per hour but it will run all day at 14,500 without a problem, don't beat yourself up. You might get more production and less knock offs this way then running Metal to the Peddle. Hope this is of some help and please provide feedback so that everyone can learn. Good Luck.
