Looking for a more versatile large format flat bed

@jhagman welcome to the forum

You'll likely attract more useful responses if you tell a little more about the flatbed you currently operate and its limitations / frustrations bringing the desire for something "more versatile".
What capabilities are you looking for that you don't currently enjoy?
The actual brand you end up investing in is generally secondary.
Footprint vs available space and budget tend to be the over-riding factors in this area, as they're hardest to alter.

Currently we have a Roland VG2-540. Would like the ability to print products for different departments like pens, mugs, bottles etc. Would like to be able to do raised ink and braid for signage outside offices so we do not need to send out to local printers. Any thoughts on products would be great.

I assume you meant braille…check out the Xante x-33. It’s specifically meant for that all of the applications you just described.

For mugs, however, we use dye sublimation. Very easy to do. Just need a dye sub inkjet printer and a mug shaped heat press which are around $500. We’re probably going to add another mug press (or 2) because it takes 4.5min for each one to transfer. With the dye sub printer, you can also get a flat heat press as well and start printing on a wide range of products such as shirts, bags, aprons, mouse pads, etc. (We started off with a Sawgrass dye sub inkjet printer and upgraded to an Epson)

There are UV transfer options for hard surface products as well. They don't require heat either. The ones I have seen seem pretty durable, but you need varnish on the flatbed.
