Hi all have a old lotem 800 and we are getting lines in the plate using Kodak Sonora processless plates.

Looks like focus issue to me but does anyone have any idea why it could happen?

Start by cleaning and lubricating the lead screw and clean the filter that protects the optics.
You may also need to increase the laser power. You should run a calibration test to check optimum laser power for the Sonora plates.

Thanks alot for your reply. Is this the worm gear that you mean at the back of the machine when removing the top cover?
Where is this filter your talking about ?

Yes, it is the worm gear. Needs lubricating with a light silicone oil

You need to reach down between the drum and the imaging head, there should be a filter on the front of the optics that you can unscrew. Be careful not to drop it.
This can get quite dusty, you need to unscrew it and carefully clean it with a lens cloth. You can do it in-situ but it's easier when it's off the machine.
After cleaning, carefully screw back on, taking care not to cross thread.
