Hi wonder if anyone can help we do mailing, are volumes are increasing from up to 100k no going into several millions, we are now having to use alot of formulas as well. Is there anything out there that you think we should be using also would need to manipulate Excel files as well as excel just isnt up to the job.

We are using Print shop mail at the moment.

I believe Print Shop Mail is a desk-top version of Planet Press (developed, maintained & marketed by Objectif Lune out of Canada. We started with Planet press, but, due to the volume and complexity of our variable digital image/data jobs, we had to move to something that is more robust. It was taking hours and hours to merge jobs to the rips. We had to switch to XMPie server to increase our throughput. Now, those same jobs take minutes and seconds to merge and spool. XMPie, (a Xerox Company), acts as a plug-in to Adobe InDesign and is much more robust. Once you learn to use it, you can set up jobs in a fraction of the time it takes to set up a Planet Press job. It is expensive, though, ($75k-$100k) for the multiple instance server version. I believe you are going to find that to be true with pretty much any software where you are migrating from a desk-top version to a full-blown server version.

We use Xmpie as well and it works well for us, are you in the USA? Curious what software you are using for the mailing portion if you are working with excel.
