Making FTP site

I don't have a PC forum I go to so thought I would try here sense most everyone is around a PC server.
We had an IT company set us up with an FTP site on one of our PC.
Now reading up on it I could probly get through it myself; one question though.
I don't know where they got the address and I'm not seeing that in any of my literature.
Any one know?
thanks

if the address is an IP # like 20.68.100.102 it is the external or public IP for the interent service providers link in your shop. But as mention earlier you should able to have a ftp.yourwebaddress.com address to give to clients

What address are you trying to get? the IP address of your FTP site or the named address of your server? You may have a different internal address for the actual PC and a different address for the outside world to use to connect to your FTP server.

Try google "Static IP" and "Port Forwarding"
Read some information about it and probably it will be clearer
