map spots

With Acro 8, one could map spots to other spots and process colors
using the color conversion tool (the small rainbow icon)
In Acro 9, that same tool seems to only allow me to convert Process colors to different spaces.
Does it work with spots in another manner
or what is the new versions way of permanently remapping spots to other colors.
--NOT-- by using the "Ink Manager"

Actually, I believe in Acrobat 9, if you use Ink Manager within Convert Color, the remapping is permanent here. You should see a warning reminding you.

You are correct, any other time, when using Ink Manager....it's only temporary. No idea why Adobe isn't more upfront about the change.

Acrobat 8 didn't have ANYWAY to map spot->process on a permanent basis - only temp via the Ink Manager.

As Tech notes in Acrobat 9, you can now use Convert Colors in conjunction with the Ink Manager to do this mapping on a permanent basis (well, assuming you save the changes).

IN addition, Preflight 9 has fix ups that can also do spot->process (or process->spot).
