Migrate from Viper to Taipan

Hi, I have been using Viper to run my Selectset 7000 and, other than the PC to mac conversion, everything is fine. However, I wanted to go to a Taipan. I just acquired a Taipan and got an interesting batch of stuff.

Manuals for Taipan 3.0.1
APIS / PAC card
Taipan 2.0.1 CD
Blue serial port dongles says "Apogee Taipan 3.0.1"
Blue serial port dongles says "R00206-001"
Purple USB dongle of some sort with a sticker that says "78971209"

So my questions are:

Where would I go to find a 3.0.1 CD?

What is the purple USB dongle?

What operating system should I be using?

Thank you.

Probably Windows 98 or NT... Good luck!

Purple dongle is a hardware license code. The software won't run unless it is plugged in. Chances are it won't work through an expansion card so the motherboard of the computer will have to have that type of port.

I have no idea where you could get that CD. I haven't seen a device that runs on this software for more than 10 years. Your best route is to seek out a company that sells these devices used internationally. Viprofix in Chicago, Illinois is a good place to start.
