Missing letters

Hi Richard,

It may happens when fonts are not supporting in ripping. Ripping software is old etc.,
Make sure fonts are embaded. Or better option is make all fonts to converted to curves as adviced by jithu.

Are you sending multiple pages at once or individual PDF's?, What it sounds like is that you have multiple copies of the same font. The printer is then trying to use only one copy which may or may not contain all the characters needed, When you run your Pitstop preflight, it will list all the instances of the fonts used. You should see the same font name pop up but with different encoding on each instance.

( note credit where credit is due, i found this explanation on another forum author is mattbeals )

could you give us more info. What kind/version of PDF? What RIP? Is it a PDF RIP or do you print from acrobat (version)? Could you also explain what font... if a particular font. What colour (is it white text where some letters are set to overprint)?
(The question is still to general to answer... sort of like my food doesn't taste like I want what's wrong w my cook?)
