Nexus and Preps

Hi gang

We have an old version of preps plus which I plan to upgrade. We are running Nexus 8.1 with 2 boxes. One is a auto trap workflow for pages. The other is the impositions station. Preps would be in the middle of the flow.

Kodak has given me a quote for preps 6. But from what I gather only version 5 works with nexus. Our system seems to rely on OPI image replacement. I am not sure if OPI is supported with preps 6. But I am guessing 5 has this function. Unless there are other issues with preps. Your thoughts?

We use Preps 6 with Nexus 10.1.x.. We use it in JDF format.
I don't think 8.1 supported JDF.

No I doubt nexus 8.1 would support JDF. Have you used preps 5.x with nexus?

Yes, we have used preps 5.x with nexus.

Hey Macdevin

Do you know if either version of preps supports OPI output? Also do you know if it has a feature to put dieline down for the trim box, sheet size and plate size?
