The National Printing Research Council (NPRC) has completed a Covid-19 Survey of almost 280 printing companies dealing with the Coronavirus, including mailers and owners of sign companies.

As the 8-page report notes at the beginning, ”Shock, amazement and surprises (both good and bad) are just a few of the reactions we experienced this week as we began examining the data gathered from our Covid-19 Printing Industry Survey.” It’s worth the read and free-of-charge.

In Canada the Federal government has released their COVID-19 Economic Response Plan. One of the items that impacts employers and employees is:

"Support for people facing unemployment - The new Canada Emergency Response Benefit

We will provide a taxable benefit of $2,000 a month for up to 4 months to:
• workers who must stop working due to COVID19 and do not have access to paid leave or other income support.
• workers who are sick, quarantined, or taking care of someone who is sick with COVID-19.
• working parents who must stay home without pay to care for children that are sick or need additional care because of school and daycare closures.
• workers who still have their employment but are not being paid because there is currently not sufficient work and their employer has asked them not to come to work.
• wage earners and self-employed individuals, including contract workers, who would not otherwise be eligible for Employment Insurance."

You can read about the entire Federal plan here: Canada’s COVID-19 Economic Response Plan - Canada.ca

In addition Provinces have their own plans. My Province's is here: Financial Supports in Response to COVID-19
