This is not fake news:
In their latest effort to beat a mail slump & stem major revenue losses, the New Zealand Postal Service has begun delivering Kentucky Fried Chicken, as the number of people using the postal service continues to plummet.

The Post is grappling with how to survive long-term, when every week Kiwis send a million fewer letters than the week prior. During the last decade the number of letters sent has halved, with a price increase of nearly 30% to NZ$2.30.

In an on-demand world, people want their goods immediately, so NZ Post is testing on-demand delivery to homes in 30-60 minutes, for:
  • the health sector,
  • the construction sector,
  • hospitality …, and now
  • fast food.
NZ Post has so far recruited 30 delivery drivers for the KFC Tauranga pilot and is planning to roll out the service across about half of New Zealand.
