Offset Printing Ink Density Variations

At yellow densitometer readings that high, I would expect more problems to occur than just color variation, from job to job. Unless the yellow inks pigment load is way high, Ill bet you have many scumming issues, and offset issues. Id start with a comparison between what your densitometer reads, and what a properly calibrated densitometer reads. If you don't have a known calibrated densitometer, try and borrow one. As mentioned by Gordo you will want to check the status of the yellow filter. If the reading you mention are in fact accurate, then Id say you've really got your work cut out for you. If it turns out that you've got all the work I just mentioned to do, I would suggest starting with a consultant well versed in the entire process. Sounds to me that perhaps your company is lacking in a real pro to pull it all together.
