Hi All,

New user here.

A few months ago we bought a refurbished OKI C9600 for some light duty work (low volumes of brochures, invitations, cards etc). It's been working (surprisingly) flawlessly so far, and now it's almost time to replace the toners it came with.

While I had it open, I noticed there wasn't any embossed "OKI" logo on the drums, as there is on the toner bottles. I suspect the drums I got with it might be remanufactured, but is there any way I can know for sure? I also noticed some marks made with a permanent marker around the holes where the screws go.

I've used aftermarket toners and drums before on other brands of machines (this if my first OKI), but I've had a few bad experiences with the drums leaking excess toner onto paper and transfer belts. So I'm thinking I should totally avoid those on this machine. There doesn't seem to be much of a price difference between the remanufactured and genuine ones anyway. Does this make sense?

Also, does anyone have experience refilling the toner bottles for these? If so, can you recommend a source for good quality bulk toner?

Thanks!

I have the same machine, and have had good luck with "high end" generic. A set of OEM will set you back $800 bucks on ebay.

msg me if you want pricing on a solid generic toner. I can give you the info where to get it. (stay away from ebay generic's). You will get background over time if you use cheap toners, or try to refill them yourself. I can even get you rebuild drums that work very well. They may not last as long - but there very cost effective.

We only use it for digital envelopes, mainly A7/A6 and 6x9 Booklets. So we get very good yields off the toner.

good luck.
