OneVision—workflow automation software for Prepress printing, Wide Format printing, Book printing, Label printing & image editing— has announced Generation-18.2. This latest iteration of their software is designed to simplify increasingly complex prepress workflows, allow design flexibility, automation and increase profitability for each print job. New features:
- Asura—Speeds the RIP process by converting complex pages & features automatic tiling
Complex pages include large amounts of graphics and/or images that slow down the RIP process.- A new feature "Convert complex pages into images" converts complex image laden pages into a single image, significantly speeding up further processing.
- Further developments have been made in nesting, tiling & paneling and the barcode module—allowing nesting of labels cut with a conventional cutting machine.
- With the "Tile pages" module, page formats larger than the maximum print format can be automatically divided into printable individual pages.
- Amendo—Preconfigured automatic image workflows
Image optimization software that offers preconfigured best practice workflows. Publishers optimize their images according to defined color worlds.- Amendo applies image optimization to achieve optimal effects for each style. Amendo also processes files not requiring optimization, directly, accelerating the entire workflow.
- Further software improvements are also integrated for wide format, book and label printing.
- Workspace – "Job Phases" simplifies workflows with XPath support
In order to maintain a clear overview of complex workflows, assembly lines can be structured with the help of job phases—using a simplified visual display of assembly lines.- Manual "clearance work" is prevented by the automatic removal of exported files.
- Users can overwrite settings of each module based on attributes at runtime, and design their own workflow flexibly according to individual requirements.
