open quark file?

We have quark 8 which cannot open a quark file. The error I receive is "this document cannot be opened by this version of Quarkxpress". How can I open this file?

I haven't used Quark extensively, in fact I would be rather frustrated if I had to create a job with it. But I seem to remember that there was a compatibility issue with opening Quark 3/4 files with Quark 6. I may be mistaken.

If you have an older version of quark on your system try that. If 8 is your only version, you may have to question Quark. Also this forum site has a forum just for Quark posts. There are some very knowledgeable persons who frequent these posts who may have your answer.

Hmmmm. Perhaps that document was saved by a version of QuarkXPress PASSPORT?

Try resaving the file without the "Multiple Language" Option. Look at this resource fro more information on Quark:
