BillerudKorsnäs—packaging materials—and Aisa—tube packaging solutions—have launched a collaboration for packaging tubes made from paper. FibreForm from BillerudKorsnäs—a low-carbon material that allows the tube to keep its shape when squeezed—can be used for toothpaste & cosmetics, and can meet brand owners’ high expectations.
The FibreForm material is tactile, renewable, biodegradable, cold-formable, requires less energy in production than plastics, and can effectively replace plastic tubes without compromising form or function. An advantage of this collaboration is that it’s possible to replace the plastic tube material with FibreForm in Aisa's machines, without rebuilding them.
According to Aisa management, using FibreForm they are now able to replace up to 70% of plastic in the functional shoulder component & 85% of the tube sleeve, yielding a hybrid package that is more than 80% paper.
