PDF Preflighting

Hi, I work in the Book industry where 99% of our work is mono text, what would be really useful is if we could preflight for halftones, does anyone know if this is possible, we have Pitstop Server 4.0 but can no find any options that cover this.

Ideas anyone?

what do you mean by preflighting halftones? Are you looking to find images or do you actually want to preflight the images themselves for tone?

Hi, was wanting to find images amongst test pages

Write and action list:
Select images
Log selection; selection text: "images have been found"

Sounds great, could you go through this step by step as when I go to Action List, Images it only gives options for "Resample for Print and Resample for Web".

That is the action list...
1) Create new action list
2) add selection "Select Images"
3) add function "log selection"
4) "log selection" text would be "images found"

You could also do it with Acrobat's preflight.

Set up a new profile and have it check for and error any images with a resolution of 10dpi or more. That should give you an error list of any halftone within the file.
