plates printing blank

I have an Agfa Advantage DL CTP intermittently throwing out plates with no image. Some lot numbers can be reproduced on another line and other times can not. Any suggestions on what the problem may be?

You have to check if the Shutter is in the position OPEN first!

Unfortunately I can ensure the shutter is open at the start but I'm unable to watch it constantly when outputting 500-1000 plates. What would cause it to occasionally switch?

I guess 10 - 20 times open-close commands could show you the "culprit" - motor, switch or set-screw of the shutter.
You have to use Control Panel Menu to reach Diag Menu
