PPML: how to customize stock

Hello,

Does anyone have any information on how to use PPML to specify stock types? I'm printing on an iGen3 and using XMPIE to generate the variable files.

I'm also interested in learning more about other advanced features of PPML, but I have been unable to obtain the specifications or any assistance in using it.

Cheers,
JG

Hope this helps.

The Dynamic Media Selection option enables you to define a string or Content
Object associated with a spread. This string is used to tell the print controller the
specific media on which the spread is to be printed.
For example, you may be printing a booklet that uses heavyweight blue paper for
the cover page, regular white paper for the body pages, and red paper for section
dividers between the chapters of the book. In this case, you could use Dynamic
Media Selection to assign different media, stored in different paper trays, to
improve production control and the overall workflow. When the job is processed,
the assigned paper will be automatically selected from the appropriate paper tray.
To set up media selection for a spread:
1. On Pages Palette, select a spread and then select Dynamic Media Selection
from the Palette menu. Alternatively, you can right-click anywhere in the
spread for which you are setting media selection (where no item exists), and
select Dynamic Media Selection from the context menu. The Dynamic Media
Selection dialog is displayed.
2. Select the desired option and specify the Content Object or string to be
mapped to the media on the print controller, as follows:
3. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog.

Thanks, that does help. It sounded familiar and I found the paragraph you're referencing in the uCreate manual, and I looked it up again but alas there are no examples. Do you have any examples you could provide? Do you know if this option selects the tray, or does it select the paper?
