Prepress Manager 4.0 & Mac OS 10.6

Is anybody running this combo? We tried it a couple of years ago and failed; we were told the Java versions weren't compatible. CS6 only wants OS 10.6, so we're jammed up here.

I guess cheap way would be to not upgrade your Adobe to CS6.
More expensive but better, in my opinion, way is to upgrade your workflow and Mac so all the tools you are using are up to date, not just one.
I am running iMac with Lion, Prinect Cockpit 2011 and Adobe CS6, everything works just fine.

you need to make sure you have a 64 bit processor before you upgrade the OSX

I'm using 4.5.1 with 10.6.8 without issues.
