How to get crease marks in Preps??
Is it possible to put a box in preps for paper size with outline ??

For the crease marks, simply add line marks, either static or smart marks, at the desired location and size. You need to spend serious time with the manual, or see if Lynda.com has a video for that.

Software training online-tutorials for Adobe, Microsoft, Apple & more

For the paper size or press sheet, that is not available up to Preps 5.3.3. But you can achieve it by printing press sheet size pdf of the work and placing that in InDesign and add the rule there. Or you may also be able to do it in a [proper] pdf editor.

I'm not sure if by "paper size" you mean the press sheet, or the trim size of the imposed piece, but either way you could use Smart Marks to add rules to the edges.

Some workflows will have an option to add the rules on the proof - I know Prinergy and Apogee both have this feature. THe advantage of doing it this way instead of in the template is it will only appear on the proof, not on the plates.

After thinking about the press sheet rule and crop marks issue, I came up with this which is along DCurry's suggestion.

The dotted line rules are added as preps vertical and horizontal lines at the press sheet edges locations. The crop marks are done by adding an independent press sheet sized page with crops, and populating it with a Preps blank page in the run list. So the whole thing is in Preps.

Edit: a word of warning: make sure to work on a copy of your signature, because you will have trouble deleting the rules latter on. A way out of that problem would be to create the rule by bringing it in with the independent page from another application such as Illustrator.

could you pls send the template of this pdf and let me try it out

I think that you would learn much more by adding the rules and the independent page with crop marks as I described in my 5:08 PM post to one of your own templates.

Or is there something else about the PDF that intrigues you?

pls find attached pdf ; template i generated thro preps and outerline created in illustrator i want to know how you will generate this type of outerline box in preps distance top & bottom 20mm from work ; left and right 10 mm from work..View attachment ipl template.PDF

Well, I do not think that there is a way of adding a rule box to a template in Preps. That is why Both DCurry and I used 4 separate rules to create a visual box.

So add rules of the proper length and at the proper distance from the imposition on each of 4 sides.

where u created the dotted rule lines thro preps or from other softwares; if thro preps means how we can get dotted lines ??? explain

Yes the doted lines are created in Preps. I cannot tell you exactly right now because I am posting from my home computer and I do not have a dongle here (hardware key).

They are added as smart line marks, and in the dialog there is an "Additional Details or Options" button or some such and there are check boxes or radio buttons for dashed and dotted lines.

We do it 2 ways, one by creating it in Indesign and two by creating it in Preps and use a specially assigned spot color for rules only and checking that to not output in our rip, works well, we can create templates with line-up rules like we used to do on orange vinyl for stripping film, we do this a lot to check layout position on repeat work which is about all we do.
