The Print & Packaging Legislative Summit hosted annually in our nation’s capital is a collaborative event bringing together printers, suppliers, and allied interests for issue advocacy, political education, public affairs discussions, interaction with Members of Congress and networking on Capitol Hill. It takes place on June 19-20, 2018 at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, DC.

The conference will address policy issues impacting printing company bottom lines, such as:
  • Tax Reform—Next steps in making reforms permanent and workable;
  • Workforce Development—Policy trends to develop a highly skilled manufacturing industry workforce;
  • Tariffs—Impacts of tariffs on steel, aluminum, and Canadian groundwood paper, as well as the future of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements;
  • Postal—Creating a modern, financially stable USPS to prevent skyrocketing postal rates;
  • Emerging Issues—Maintaining access to paper-based communications options and data privacy issues.

It was just announced that Charlie Cook, editor and publisher of The Cook Political Report, will be speaking at this conference, providing an analysis of the upcoming Congressional, mid-term elections.

Producing sharp, non-partisan political handicapping for the business of politics, the New York Times says, The Cook Political Report is “a newsletter that both Parties regard as authoritative.”
