Hi victor17,

I just bought an OKI es9410, I'm not sure where it stands in relation to the ProColour range but it's rated at 300gsm and appears slightly slower. I was however informed the reduced speed contributes to quality. The HD-toner is the same, so are the internal components so I doubt there is much difference.

The 9410 is great, I've only used it for 8 days and half a dozen jobs but it hasn't let me down yet and I’ve thrown a fair amount at it too: full coverage black, gradients, light shades, photos, etc...It accepts a lot of medias even some coated stock that my Ilumina really dislikes. So far I'm running it on heavy ColorCopy and Condat/Xerox glossy media and quality is top notch, despite the specs stating 1200dpi there is a software enhancement to "Q2400" which really does boost the resolution to an apparent 2,400dpi.

What drew me to this printer was service and consumable contracts are available, the "es" stands for Executive Series and they are designed to be sold to customers with a monthly commitment, which can be very reasonable if you don't have a high throughput.

I ran a job of 500 SRA3 prints and the first print matched the last, I did notice half-way through when the printer did a calibration the colour changed slightly but if you plan to print very short runs (50-100) there should be no colour shift, and you can re-calibrate whenever you like.

My business is stationery so I haven't had any highly demanding customers, but I have very high quality standards and the es9410 passes. For my uses its in-line with the Xerox DocuColour series, although the Xerox is cheaper to run and has better CMYK registration on heavy stocks - not the say the OKI is bad, I'm noticing a 0.5mm shift half-way down the SRA3 page on 350gsm stock which recovers after 5cm...well within tolerance and may just be a temporary issue.

If you'd like any further info please get in touch, I'll be happy to share my experience including a top-notch printer & contract provider if you’re in the UK.
