Depends on the RIP you are using to drive the Kodak Approval (I will assume since you typed a capital A in the word Approval, my guess was that you were speaking of the very expensive dot proofing system from Kodak.)
- otherwise, well, this would depend a lot on if the 'proofing system' and 'the RIP driving that proofing system" honored profiles properly and processed the output intent.
Without knowing what RIP and what imaging system, no one can answer your question, not even the resident genius mensa Dr. Lukas Engqvist - what he said here is absolutely correct - that one can create a PDF (with the proper settings) and that PDF would be reliable - but since you failed to share your workflow or what system (what printer, what RIP, what settings) - well, we can answer with a yes - we can say "definitely MAYBE !"
it ALL depends on how you saved your photoshop images, and what your color management policies were for exporting that PDF from InDesign.
If you happen to know what RIP and what device, you could check here;
SWOP | Certification: Certified Systems
if you did mean "Kodak Approval" when you typed "Approval proofs"
KODAK Graphic Communications
(i note here that most of these devices have expired application data sheets)
Hope this helps (probably did not help much)
