PS/M 7 or 8 can either work with 1 bit tiff

I have a lotem 400 running lotem expose. I have PS/M 7 and PS/M 8 as rips. I need to process a 1 bit tiff file and make it print out to the lotem. When I try to do it on the lotem expose it gives me an error code. I have several tiffs that I need to plate. Any suggestions!

A couple of questions:

what is the source of the 1 bit tiffs?
Are they in fact 1 bit? i.e. Already screened and only one colour?

What is the error number and description you get with Xpo(se)?

The tiff files are created in Rampage. (We are switching from a kodak system to Fuji, but our plate setter is on backorder and will not arrive until july) Xpose tells me that I don't have a license for this type of file. I hope that there is a way around this with software or something that will let me expose the tiff files.
