I am wondering if anyone has a link to or an article on the reason for pullout sheets on startup.
And before anyone asks yes I know why, but sometimes in helping someone else understand you have to have a little something that is a document of facts to ease there doubt or help there understanding.

I don't have an article, but the reason for discarding any sheet is because it is defective. That defect should be visible and measurable. Show the defects to the person in question and that should be all the explanation needed.

Assuming your not trying to explain it to a blind person, cant you just show them on a 4cp job? show them the 2nd to last sheet before stop and then the first 3? The difference should be noticeable in the heavier areas.

Then explain its a mechanical process they cant possibly understand and they should get back to facebook/twitter

The reason for pulling the start up sheets out of the stack is so that they will not end up in the good product that gets finished / shipped to the customer on accident.
