Pulling the trigger on a refurbished 6500 - down sides?

First of all - I'd like to start by saying the Konica reps have assured me it has all the upgrades to make it equiv to a 6501 (in terms of fixes) and the price is very attractive.

Any big down sides to this machine?

They claim I can run 12pt duplexing; but I've heard from others not so much.

Is that the case?

Thanks in advance!

One thing it won't have, which is probably one of the better features of the 6501 is the density adjustment . This is used to adjust any imbalance across a sheet and works really well. On the c6500 the tech has to adjust the distance from the drum to the charge unit and in some cases you could not adjust it at all, although this was with the very early laser units.

Do you know the volume of the second hand unit? The life of these units is about 5million.

The sales rep actually showed me that feature specifically on the machine? I wonder if I was looking at a c6501?
