Recommendations for Cylinder Repairs

I've recently damaged 3 cylinders (plate, blanket and impression) with ball bearings. Can anyone recommend a reputable company for repairs? What costs am I facing?

Or you could do like we did and use bondo. One of our guys accidentally dropped a allen wrench in one of the presses trying to adjust the forms on the run and it got caught between the plate and blanket cylinders. We filed the raised portions flat and filled in the indentations with bondo. Of course you then have to shape the bondo afterwards.

We accidentally did that on a Komori Sys38 between the blanket cylinders on the 1st unit. We ground it down, added "quicksteel" and its been fine ever since. That was about 2 years ago. Of course we use steelback blankets, so that makes a little bit of a difference. I'd recommend it as a temp fix though, because the quicksteel wears away after a while.
 
Did you guys have to file it down or could you use regular sandpaper? See that's why we used bondo instead of something like JB Weld or something similar. Yes bondo shrinks a bit when it cures but it's way easier to work with.

Hi there, my company used to do electroplating on site up until a few years ago. When it comes to small dings such as ball bearings, electroplating takes a long time . Also you have to actually open it up larger to be effective in electroplating. The best way to repair ball bearing dings is to drill the ding the same diameter as the ding and then use a taper reamer and drive a taper pin in with red or green locktite cut off excess and file down to surface height of cylinder. This a permanent fix and only the area affected.

Ive done 2 part epoxy fixes, that depending on the size of the ding have lasted well over a year, and other than the visible fix on the cylinder showed nothing when printing even the most challenging impressions.
 
Our Process is called selective area plating or Brush Plating. We electroplate copper to fill the damage, file and blend to the contour of the cylinder, then deposit a hard nickel cap to provide wear resistance.
This process is used by OEM and press mechanics that want a permanent repair, guaranteed for the life of the press.
It is also the only way to fix low areas or corrosion damage on cylinders "in" the press. Bondo/JB weld will not hold up on this application and is not accurate enough. We can control the deposit within .0003" depending on the type of damage.
