Registration Problem

Has anyone had problems with; I guess you would call it repeatablity. The press has had to adjust more than .004 to get registered.
My partner here has seen this before, where if you run different size plates it can mess up the platesetter for awhile.
Anyone hear of that?

Re: Registration Problem

changing plate sizes shouldn't change registration at all..

are you doing inline punching?

Re: Registration Problem

If that mean the platesetter is punching it, then yes.
We also manually punch the plate bending holes.

Re: Registration Problem

I think Cory was asking are you punching the press notches internally? It seems your internal punch is just for plate mounting on the CtP but you are manually punching the press notches off line. Off line punching can add to the error. Does you offline punch center the plate or side register the plate? What presses are you imaging for?

Re: Registration Problem

Are the plates needing to move in the same direction or is it a plate to plate fit issue?

the only time I've seen plates not fit it was always a stock issue.
