Hi everyone, we are looking at replacing our ImpoProof 7200 and would like some real life feedback on the two options we are looking at.
We run our contract proofs on our Epson 9880's as single pages and run the imposition proofs on the ImpoProof 7200 by sending a 360dpi TIFF from Prinergy V5.1.2.0.142 to the Print Manager. We generally run 16 page 4CP signatures on a full web (proof size: 40"X25") and also run one sheetfed press (proof size: 26"X21.625")for small quantities or covers. Of course we have tight turn times and constantly changing schedules just like the rest of the printing world.
Option 1: Preproofer 988
Option 2: ImpoProof 8000
Here are some of our concerns: speed, accuracy of backup, maintenance, longevity, ease of use.
If anyone has any thoughts, good or bad, about either of these proofers we would greatly appreciate you sharing them.
