So, we've had this C900S (Fiery equipped) for a few months now and after a lot of parts replacement and service calls it's finally running pretty well... My biggest concern right now is the fact that a lot of the time, this thing prints incredibly slow.
Some jobs it runs full speed, but it seems it prints more of them a lot slower than it should be... It does it on any size and paper setting, duplex or not. For example, right now, I'm printing a duplexed 11x17 job on regular 20 lb. bond... It's printing about 5 sheets a minute (10 sides)
One thing I've noticed is that sometimes, on the actual printer screen, it will print one or two sheets, and then it will say "self checking", while at the same time, the Command Workstation will say "warming up"... But sometimes it won't even display that message. It will just run a couple sheets, stop, then print a couple more.
I can't seem to get a straight answer out of the techs, or the sales rep (who watched it first hand and said it was the file, so we tried other files and had the same issue).
Does anyone have a clue as to what it might be? Having to set aside an entire hour to run 500 12x18 copies is getting kind of obnoxious. I was originally thinking it was a file issue, but it seems way too common for that.
