Slip Sheets (Xerox 700)

I was wondering if the 700 was capable of putting slip sheets in when you print a hard copy? Anybody tried and succeed in figuring out how to do this.

Never tried but im pretty sure you can, we do it with books all the time. but it slows down production a lot

You definitely can - it's a setting on your front end. On the Fiery, it's under media. But it REALLY REALLY slows down production. After every set it has to switch the feed try, so it takes 1-2 extra minutes per slip sheet. Depending on how many sets you're running that can be huge.

As long as your slipsheet papers are specified as the same weight as your stock you are printing on, there should be no time lag in the pickup from the other trays. Your the stock weight choices control the heat setting going to the fuser that causes the slow downs.

Yup - do it all the time. Sometimes even pull from different trays. IE 3 different colours for different covers, tabs, inserts etc.
As Red said - make sure everything is set to the same weight, and your good to go.
