STE Boxes

STE Boxes

An STE box literally means a straight tuck end box, which is a box with four finished edges on it. These edges are designed to make a box more visually appealing to consumers. One drawback is that STE boxes do not fit as snugly together as other box types, such as when they are on display. STE boxes allow for simple assembly and loading of a variety of retail products.

This box type has top and bottom closing flaps on the same side of the box, with a possible window for displaying a product. STE boxes are particularly ideal for such display windows. They can be made from corrugated cardboard or other materials. Different size customizations are available depending on the contents. Thanks printingonline - your description was a good starting point for adding this term to my prepress dictionary. It did take a bit of searching around to figure out what is meant by 'four finished edges'.

I got this question from my clients all the time, so I think it's great to have it clearly explained here. Once you know what an STE box is, you realize how common a sight it is in retail stores and other similar businesses.

I'd also like to add that RTEs work better for nesting purposes. This is a cost-effective way to produce a box. Hey Ryan, if you have more questions regarding different box types, just bring it up!!! :)

TTAB Boxes

TTAB Boxes

Thank you for the response, it was quite helpful. I actually do have another question. What is a TTAB box and what is it most commonly used for?

TTAB Boxes

TTAB Boxes

A TTAB box stands for a tuck top auto bottom box. These boxes have a stronger bottom than other boxes, yet they are a more costly option as well. It makes more economical sense to produce them in larger quantities. There are also width requirements for manufacturing them.

This type of box has a cut-out bottom design that fits into place without any need for tape, which speeds up assembly time. You can visit Business Image Printing, Business Printing Services, flyer, card if you have any more questions about TTAB boxes or other boxes.
