Suggestions for in-office digital press

We have been farming out close to 5000 postcards a month (variable data on 10 pt c1s). Looking for an internal solution to do them in-house. Any suggestions?

must be able to run at least 10pt card stock easily

Have looked at the xante gl330, but that's about it... looking for other options.

you can probably do it with a Xerox DocuColor 252.

5,000 Postcards? So that's 625 SRA3 sheets... 1250 impressions if they're double sided.

£10,000 on 5 year lease = £210 per month
6p per click = £75
5p for paper = £32

We won't even mention an operator, pre-press or finishing... that's £317 or 31.7p per postcard. How much are you currently paying?

Agree with Josh. Not only the press, but the cutter, staff with skills, wastage, etc. At that quantity I would have thought farming out was the best way forward.

Having said that, if you do really want to bring it in house I would avoid the Xante / OKI based machines. We got rid of one about 18 months ago and replaced it with a Xerox DC250. Much better machine for costs, reliability, holding quality. The Xante models will be very heavy on drums and toners if you are running card all the time, making the running costs very high.
