Touchpoint Packaging Initiative at drupa 2020—June 16 through 26, 2020 in Düsseldorf, Germany—plans to address the changes & challenges in packaging. Attendees will be able to listen to keynotes, attend roundtables, engage with specialists and touch the newest / most innovative packaging solutions. The visitor experience will combine physical and non-physical packaging, using augmented reality, virtual reality and digital workflows.
The European Packaging Design Association (EPDA) has defined more than 20 projects that will be showcased, such as customization, personalization, digitalization, security and authentication. The idea is that during these projects new concepts and technologies get applied to packaging production, finishing techniques and materials.
The drupa steering committee has also formalized an agreement with the International Academy of Art, Design & Fashion. A handpicked group of their talented students will add insights & creativity to the projects and present ideas and design concepts for tomorrow’s packaging.
