Versant 280 - Side 2 will Not align, let alone center

I am running two Versant 280s. On one of them side 2 refuses to align and the image refuses to center on the sheet. I have run SIQA, cleaned sensors, rollers, everything I know how. My tech has done NVM alignments and it appears to align front to back and somewhat centered on the sheet, but when I run any job, side 2 is always multiple mms off. The alignment of that machine as a whole is horrible, but side 2 is my arch nemesis. My tech has "done what he can." When I can get aligned (though not centered) front to back, the entire image will drift throughout the run. I ran a large job and would check every 30-40 copies or so and the front-back alignment would be fine, but what I didn't check was if the whole image was shifting as a whole. After 6,000 sheets got dumped in the trash I have just about given up on duplex/long runs on that machine., I'm desperate for any answers.
I have alignment profiles for each stock I run, I max out adjustments before I am centered on any of them. I run a lot of different stocks, but I can't get any of them to center and hold.
I'm relatively new to operating so I don't know everything, so I am open to any suggestions and tips.
Thanks much

Contact your sales person and have them escalate the issue to a more experienced tech. Your tech can't just throw in the towel if your machine isn't working.

What sizes, weights, and paper surfaces have you replicated this issue with?
How far off is the alignment and in what direction(s)?

Did the tech try swapping the fuser and/or fuser frame from the normal 280 into the flaky 280?
Same question for the alignment module.

8.5x11 LEF&SEF, 9x12 LEF&SEF, 11x17, 12x18, 13x19 - Gloss cover & text, Silk cover & text, Uncoated 24#-100# (Accent & Hammermill) text & cover. It is all of the paper. Larger is worse, but 8,5x11 is still a nightmare.

Alignment on side 2 is generally off the page on both Inboard side & Lead Edge. I use alignment adjustments to try and center, but I hit my max adjustments (2 mm) before I hit center, image is off by about 3.5-4.2 mm L/R and T/B. (Not sure if I am using the language correct so, side 2 is printing off the page, ~4mm down and ~4mm to the right.) The image shifts on the page about 1mm Lead- 1mm to Trail throughout the run.

I have had so many issues with this press, image quality was really bad at one point. I think it is a lemon. Tech keeps lots of parts on hand so he has swapped fusers and pressure roll (although not sure about the frame), 2BTR, IBT belt & assembly, pinch roll alignment module, new decurl assy. In the past I've had bad color, fusing, creasing, the works, but this alignment issue has been going on for a couple months and I've just been working around it but it is slowly getting worse.

8.5x11 not aligning? Yikes...
Might try a fuser frame replacement or swap (it is four screws and a careful 2 person lift to be safe), but a sales rep or technical manager should be able to request a full press replacement if your service agreement includes a satisfaction guarantee.

Thats what I was afraid of, though I do believe it is in our contract as this press has been replaced before (I think,, it was before my time here). My sales rep has not responded to me directly in several months, she has supposedly spoken to my tech*, but I've not heard a peep since probably march. One of our other machines is going to be out of service in a couple months and not even the owner has heard anything from our rep about getting a replacement.
I'll talk to my tech about a fuser frame swap, and possibly about the full press replacement.

Give this a try, it may or may not help but it should be run to align the trays properly.
When logged in on console, under maintenance on last page select Register Paper Feeding Positions.
