Versant 80...All lights flashing

Anyone with a Versant 80 experienced all the lights flashing on and off?

We only had this installed on Thursday, left it over the weekend then came in today to this.

Have tried powering it off at the wall and leaving it for a few minutes but just reverts to the same state when I power it back on.

That is an old machine. Hopefully you have a maintenance contact or warranty because this does not look good.

I'd remove all cables apart from the power and see if same, if ok slowly plug another cable in each time.
One might just need reseating.

I was told by a tech that when you per down a machine, the capacitors hold a charge for quite some time and can hold an error.

He said to power down, switch off, then press the power button several times to flush the capacitors

I left the machine overnight and did as you suggested this morning but still no joy. I've had a reply from the company I purchased the printer from (who the maintenance contract is with) and they are going to send an engineer out. Not a good start though haha.

I asked my tech while he was here working on my booklet maker what he would do if he saw all the lights flashing. He said he'd check into reloading software, but would be almost certain it was a failing power supply.

Probably touch screen panel cable connector behind the UserInterface control panel was not properly seated.
Will be nice for you to have service manual for this machine if the tehnician isnt arround.

We had the tech out yesterday and he was of the same opinion as your tech that one of the two low voltage power supplies had failed. He's took the first one away with him to test on his machine (apparently the second one is more difficult to get to so he didn't want to take it out if it wasn't the faulty one), but he's requested a replacement power supply so just need to wait for that to arrive.

I had hoped that one of the cables was loose and that it'd be a simple fix but turned out to be a dead power supply.
