I intend to do a printrun of scans of a watercolour on Canon fine art and etch paper. I currently have a pixma ip3000 which only does A4, but I will need both A4 and A3 prints. I understand that there is an issue in respect to whether a printer's inks are dyes or pigment inks. (My printer has its black as a pigment ink and its colours are dyes). For reproducing watercolours as light-fast, realistically 'watercolour' prints to hang on the wall, can anyone advise me as to which A3, household printer I ought to get, or more generally, whether I should try to get a printer with pigment colour inks, or whether it should have dye inks?
One other thing, I have rather a tight budget unfortunately.
With thanks in advance.
