waved paper

I have a problem with a strongly waved paper after it exits the printer. We have a C7000, we use paper Digifinesse 170g, indoor humidity 30% -35%.
The paper is stored correctly. We print photos, lots of black areas.

What can I do to reduce the wave of paper?
any printer settings that will help? (decrease in temperature? slowing?)

Compression in the press helps - but it takes a long time.

Your relative humidity should be 50 - 55%

Also its could be worth a try to acclimate your paper, unwrapped, for 24 hours before printing.

If that does not work it could be that there is an issue with papers dimensional stability. In that case contact your supplier.

I suspect that the 7000 engine is an evolution of the 6501. There are wearing parts on the 6501 that can cause more wave when you are getting near the PM. On the PM they are MEANT to rebuild this section, but your experience may vary, so I'd check this.

If your paper is short grain, you can try changing to long grain. The paper will be a little more resistant to ripple. Of course that doesn't help if you need to keep the grain in a specific direction, i.e. for finishing.

Hope that helps!
