Will A.I. replace classically trained graphic illustrators? In other words, will A.I. replace A.I.?

Yes. It already is happening, the limiting factor is the integration of the technology into consumer interfaces.


A caveat I will add is that current AI technology is very energy hungry. Perhaps the energy use will come down, but running your images through data centers that consume vast amounts of energy is too centralized. It'd be nice to run AI models on your own hardware.

It's already happening. The job of illustrating - especially children's books - will increasingly be done using AI. That's life. The career of the illustrator is dying fast.
