Xante Ilumina Costs

I've read that Xante's consumables run higher than most digital devices, but what do their click costs look like?

We had one Xante consumable cost = KM6501 x 10 !. It can not print on coated stock, easy jamed.

If you're going to use the Xante illumina for envelopes with very low coverage only, then it is a good device. But if you do regular printing as with any other digital device, the Xante illumina cost like 8 times more, the cost would simply kill your business. They have no click charges.

I second that! It's a great machine for low coverage jobs and odd jobs but you can forget about doing any regular commodity work (brochures, flyers, etc). A flyer with a solid color background, i.e, no paper showing, can easily cost over 30 cents in toner alone!!!!

If your volume is low and you don't have a ton of capital, it's doable. I started my shop with an Ilumina and when you look back over the year, it all averages out I HAVE made money with my Ilumina. But my volume has outgrown it and now I have a Xerox parked next to it. But you know what, that lease payment SUCKS in February when business is slow.

To answer the poster's (????) question, I don't think you get the Ilumina from anyone with a service agreement. The closest I have seen is an Oki ESwhatever copier that went for 9 cents a click for letter size.

I liked the xerox 7400, before they quit supporting it. Always check the consumable cost b4 your buy. Xerox had a $900 per year service contract that seemed to me very cheap and fast.
