Xerox & Vortran Medical Technology are teaming up to speed and scale production of Vortran’s GO2Vent ventilator & Airway Pressure Monitor (APM-Plus). Assuming a stable supply of essential parts, the companies will be rapidly scaling up production from approximately 40,000 ventilators in April to between 150,000 and 200,000 a month by June. Together, Xerox & Vortran could produce as many as 1 million ventilators in the coming months.

While not a replacement for ventilators found in ICUs, the GO2Vent is widely used in emergencies, inter-hospital transport and MRIs, and will be used to support patients who do not yet have, or no longer need, an ICU-level breathing device. The GO2Vent can be set-up within minutes, and provides continuous ventilatory support for up to 30 days and discarded after use by a single patient.

Isn't this going to lead to a glut of ventilators? I seem to be reading about numerous companies making huge numbers of them when they already have more than they need. Our local hospitals said they have more than enough.

We can sell them to countries that will need them. That was covered in the briefing today. Not sure if you have noticed, but a lot of countries bought faulty supplies from China, so they are really feeling the pressure to get items that actually work in their hands.

A bunch delivered from the US national stockpile were reportedly faulty as well...so that stockpile could use some restocking as well apparently.

China??? Make us look bad....give us crappy products???? No way.

Next you will be telling me they use Lead Pa.....nevermind.
