xerxo 700 jam...requires canceling a job?

we used a wausau exact coated, 100# gloss text. it's like 148gsm. worked like a champ for awhile, then died on the vine. let me just say that the other wausau paper we use works like a champ though.

I can tell you that using Xerox paper will not fix your problem. Xerox reps and so called specialists love the easy way out. we were using xeroxs own 140gsm brand and it jammed all day long

its not the paper brand causing the jam really...its the moisture levels, all which can be effected by your environment, how its warehoused at supplier, etc. your problem is your getting moisture in the sheet and static as well and they sticking to each other. fanning them heavily before going into tray will stop problem but if there is any weight of paper in the stack then by time machine gets to bottom sheet they have stuck to each other again

plus as I have mentioned roller wear and tear...dirt and dust lying on roller all cause jams...xerox have this magic fluid for cleaning rollers and whilst it fixes it for a few hundred sheets once it dries off it returns...i managed to get 2 bottles of this "Enginner only" magic fluid but after getting bored with it the only true fix is HCF

yeah, we're going to work on that HCF issue. hopefully we'll be able to get it and it'll help alleviate the issue. which type of fluid is that -- is it the "formula A" stuff or the antistatic stuff? i remember our rep saying it made the rollers more tacky...for a while...

Mojo? what is wrong with you... You are letting Xerox treat you like a dumb person?
Tell them it's not the paper, it's their stupid machine. And have them fix it now not in 1-3 weeks.

Listen to me and trust me, it's not the paper. You know what they are going to tell you next, only xerox paper will run on your machine.

well, if we try another type of paper and it jams as well, then we have more to stand on. but we can't really refute the findings on the engineer's report about the paper. all we can do is move forward, and hope we have better luck.

is the stock you are using "digital" paper?

or normal paper trimmed down and used on the xerox?

certified for digital, precut. we had some that was trimmed from a larger sheet, but it caused issues so we went with the paper that came precut from the mill.

Thanks for the info Mojo.

We've had problems with non digital stock, but not so many problems with digital stock. We use Sterling & Pacesetter.

odd. the box does have a box that's checked offset. but it's certified digital. maybe they didn't tell us everything. well, for sure, the next stuff we pick will be for sure digital-compatible.
