XL 105 options

Hello everyone,

We are planning to upgrade our 2002 5 color speedmaster 102 CD LX to a new 5 color XL 105 with coating also. The options that came to mind were adding the LE UV capabilities and ink temperature control for rollers, in addition to the XL standard options.

Can you suggest a options that are helpful to be added to the press knowing that we are a diversified print shop, we print a little bit of everything.

Not sure if it's available for the 105 but Inpress Control might be of your interest:

From Heidelberg's website: Prinect Inpress Control automatically measures and controls color and register on the fly and at any speed. Integrated directly into the press, the measuring unit measures process colors, spot colors and register in the print control strip. Any corrections required are forwarded directly to the Prinect Press Center for adjustment. As the press does not need to be stopped for either make-ready or monitoring of the production run, Prinect Inpress Control achieves maximum productivity.

XL 105 is discontinued and now its XL106. You can also add option of raised press to give you advantage of higher piles.

I would consider the temp controlled inker a MUST HAVE with any modern sheetfed capable of 15,000+ sph speeds.

It's a 106 not a 105... ink temperature control is already in the listed options. We also added dual wash tanks and pipelines in order to run LE UV and conventional inks.

I would get two coating chambers and pumps one uv one aq. Get extra packing bars for cutting packing (uv) mist filters ink canisters don't need two wash up tanks use combo wash get the uv light option so you don't have to shut off uv lights to wash up press the xl is a great press you will love it

Good call for the dual coating chambers... can you elaborate on the extra packing bars please? As for the wash we requested dual tanks and pipes as combo wash might be more expensive and less available. The uv lights option is included.

Duel Chamber is a must, How many interdecks are you planning on getting ? We have 4. May also consider a Beta F The new
pnuematic dosing system is really nice, we have them on our new anicolor wish i had them on the 2 XL"s.

Beta F is included.... Duel Coating Chamber also added along with dual pumps... It's an LE-UV machine, we opted for LE instead of LED.... the machines comes with 4 lamps, but only 3 can be used at the same time... first lamp is after the first unit, second lamp is after the fifth inking unit, and the last 2 lamps are after the coating unit.

You may want to go for the Beta Z ink temperature control. This option allows to have each press unit have its own temperature setting.

I am sure we have ink temperature control but not sure if it is beta z... will double check
