    Kodak Violet, or Fuji Violet?

Why not add Agfa's N91V to
the mix? It has the largest
    market share by volume for
    violet photopolymer than
    the other two combined.

Agfa would entail a new processor.

        Hi Old Stripper...

        You may be correct.

However, many people think that Agfa only has one
kind of violet plate - our silver-based Lithostar LAP-V.
That indeed would be a completely different processor.
However, Agfa's N91V is a photopolymer plate, somewhat
similar to the Kodak and Fuji violet plates you reference.

There are several 3rd party photopolymer processors that have been certified to work with our N91V photopolymer product (such as the G&J Raptor & Interplater "P" configurations, etc...)

If you have indeed received confirmation from Agfa
that you existing processor will not handle N91V, fine.
If not, if you'd like to share with us your processor and
model number, I can check my handy processor matrix.

            Old Stripper:

To follow-up on your concern that you'd have
to switch-out your violet processor in order
to try an Agfa photopolymer solution, I have
            received several anecdotal reports where
we have tested or switched to Agfa plates
on an existing Fuji processor. I say this with
caution, as there is no formal cross-certification
between Agfa and Fuji on this technology,
and of course, there may be model differences
where this is not recommended nor possible.

Regardless, there may be more viable options for you than you may have thought.

It will also be interesting to see the final
implementations of Agfa's and Fuji's chem-
Free violet plates at drupa. This also might be
            worth a consideration.
